When you’re looking for a professional storage rental company to provide you with a container, you’re bound to have questions.  The better informed you are, the better the service we can provide!

These are the questions we get most often.  But if you have more, call us anytime, we love to help!

Q: What insurance do you carry?

We offer coverage of up to $5000.00 worth of damage, when you store at our facility. ($25.00 every 4 weeks)
Your insurance provider may include coverage for your Go Mini’s storage rental container within your existing policy.

Q: What happens to my container when Go Mini’s store it?

The Go Mini’s storage rental container is taken to our highly secure storage facility, and stored there until you, the customer, schedule a delivery date for the container. You can also have easy access your container at the facility by making an appointment through the office, with a minimum of 72 hours notice.

Q: Do you offer discounts?

We currently offer great value discounts* for long term storage with Go Mini’s:
Pre-pay 6 months rent = 10% discount on the rental of the unit
Pre-pay 12 months’ rent = 20% discount on the rental of the unit

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa and MasterCard.

Q: How quickly can I get a Mini Storage Rental?

Depending on the season and our schedule, containers can usually be delivery within 72 hours.

Q: How will you prevent damage to my driveway when you deliver my Mini?

Wood boards are placed under the rubber-coated wheels of the units to disburse the weight and protect your driveway.

Q: Why do I have four weeks?

The rental of the unit is for 4 weeks, and therefore the payments are taken every 4 weeks (28 days). Payments are pro-rated after the first 4 week rental period, so that you only pay for the days that you use the Go Mini’s Rental container.

Q: How heavy can the items be in the Mini?

The weight limit is 8000 pounds.

Q: What are the dimensions of the Go Mini’s containers?

All the containers are 8 feet high and 8 feet wide. We have three lengths available: 12”, 16” and 20”.

Q: Do I need to be at the location when you deliver or pick up the Mini?

No, you simply need to ensure that there is sufficient space for us to deliver.  As a courtesy we will call and confirm delivery instructions one day prior to delivering or picking up your container.

Q: Is there anything I can’t store?

No food or food products, no paint, explosive items, flammable items, or anything deemed illegal in Ontario is permitted in the containers.

Q: What space do I need for you to deliver?

We need just 9½ feet width clearance and a minimum 14 feet height clearance.
We will also need 80-100 feet clearance directly in front of where you want the container placed.

Q: Does rain or snow cause any problems for Go Mini’s containers?

All of our storage rental containers are designed to be watertight and weatherproof – and the majority are stored outside year-round. There are no issues arising from weather.

Q: How many Go Mini’s containers do I need?

If well packed, in most cases a 20 foot Go Mini’s container will hold the contents of a 3 bedroom home without appliances.  The 12 foot Go Mini’s containers will hold a 1 bedroom condo without appliances. It is best to carefully assess your belongings to ensure you choose the appropriate size for your storage needs.

Q: Can I get help loading my Go Mini’s rental storage container?

Go Mini’s will recommend a few moving companies that we feel provide great services to their customers, and ours.  Most of our customers take advantage our flexibility and load and unload at their leisure.

Q: How will Go Mini’s ensure that my contents are not damaged during the moving of the unit?

Go Mini’s has a great team of professional drivers who have years of experience moving our containers. Units are loaded slowly and safely on and off our trucks, and we also recommend and can provide our customers with packing supplies that will help keep your belongings secure inside the units.

Q: How long can the Go Mini’s rental storage container stay at my location?

The unit can stay at your location for entire storage time.  If you want the rental storage unit stored at our facility, then the rental container can stay at your location for as long as you need.  Unless there is a specific regulation that defines the amount of time a container may be placed at your location, you may keep it for as long as you need.

Q: How should I pack the contents to store?

We recommend that you safely pack all of your belongings using bubble wrap and boxes where appropriate.  We are able to provide packing and moving supplies, which can be delivered with your unit.  This is however entirely at each customer’s discretion.

Q: How should a Go Mini’s container be loaded?

Heavy items should be positioned on the floor of the container, with lighter items on top.  Use moving blankets to protect furniture and straps to secure belongings if necessary.  The tighter the unit is packed, the more you will fit and the safer the contents will be.
